Perfect 5 Minute Boiled Corn on the Cob
This is my favorite way to make sweet, juicy corn on the cob in just a few minutes during the summer.
easy.enzo81.xyzNothing says summer quite like fresh corn on the cob dripping with butter and a little bit of salt. It is such a simple side dish, but it really highlights how delicious seasonal produce can be when you cook it just right.
My secret for the sweetest corn is to keep a close eye on the pot and not overcook it. Boiling corn for too long can make it tough, so sticking to this short timing keeps every bite crisp and tender.
Ingredients
- 4 ears of fresh sweet corn, husked and silk removed
- Water for the pot
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- Optional: cracked black pepper or chili powder
5Instructions
- 1
Fill a large pot with enough water to fully submerge the corn and bring it to a rolling boil over high heat.
- 2
Carefully drop the husked corn into the boiling water.
- 3
Let the corn boil for exactly 5 minutes.
- 4
Turn off the heat and use tongs to remove the corn from the water.
- 5
Transfer the corn to a plate and serve immediately with butter, salt, and your favorite seasonings.
Tips
Leftover corn can be cut off the cob and stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. It is perfect for tossing into salads or mixing into scrambled eggs the next morning.
