Easy Microwave Corn on the Cob
This is the simplest way to get sweet and juicy corn without the mess of peeling off the silk.
easy.enzo81.xyzCooking corn usually means spending time peeling away those sticky silks, but this microwave method makes things so much faster. You cook the corn right in its own husk, which helps steam it to perfection while keeping all the flavor inside.
This trick is a favorite because the corn slides right out once it is finished. If you only need a few ears for dinner, this is much quicker than waiting for a big pot of water to boil on the stove.
Ingredients
- 2 ears of fresh corn with the husks still on
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
6Instructions
- 1
Place the whole ears of corn, husks and all, directly onto the microwave turntable.
- 2
Microwave on high for about 4 minutes for one ear, or 7 to 8 minutes for two ears.
- 3
Use oven mitts to carefully remove the corn from the microwave because it will be very hot.
- 4
Use a sharp knife to cut off the stem end of the corn, about an inch from the bottom.
- 5
Hold the corn by the silk end and give it a firm shake or squeeze so the ear slides right out of the husk.
- 6
Serve immediately with a little butter, salt, and pepper.
Tips
If the corn does not slide out easily, try cutting a little bit higher up from the stem end. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
