I love making these apple nachos because they are so much easier to eat than traditional caramel apples. You get all that sweet and crunchy goodness without the mess of a heavy stick, making them a perfect snack for a quick afternoon pick me up or a party platter.

My best advice is to wait until the very last second to slice your apples so they stay nice and crisp. If you want to keep them from browning before you serve, a quick squeeze of lemon juice over the slices works wonders.

Ingredients

  • 2 large apples, sliced into thin wedges
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce, warmed
  • 1/4 cup semi sweet chocolate chips, melted
  • 2 tablespoons chopped peanuts or walnuts
  • 1 tablespoon toffee bits
  • 1 tablespoon mini marshmallows

5Instructions

  1. 1

Arrange the apple slices in a single layer on a large platter or plate.

  2. 2

Drizzle the warm caramel sauce evenly over all the apple slices.

  3. 3

Drizzle the melted chocolate over the apples in a zigzag pattern.

  4. 4

Sprinkle the chopped nuts, toffee bits, and mini marshmallows over the top.

  5. 5

Serve immediately while the apples are fresh and crisp.

Tips

These are best enjoyed right away since apples can oxidize quickly once cut. If you have leftovers, store the toppings and apples separately in the fridge so you can assemble fresh snacks later.
