If you are looking for a fun way to freshen up your holiday dessert table, this s'mores pumpkin pie is the perfect choice. It combines the warm spices of autumn with the nostalgic campfire flavors we all know and love.

This recipe is a family favorite because it gives you the best of both worlds. The rich chocolate ganache pairs so well with the creamy pumpkin, and that toasted meringue on top makes every single slice look beautiful.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 6 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 15 ounces pumpkin puree
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 large egg whites
  • 1/2 cup sugar for the meringue

7Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

  2. 2

Mix the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and honey together, then press the mixture into a pie dish and bake for 10 minutes.

  3. 3

Melt the chocolate chips with the heavy cream in a small saucepan until smooth, then spread this ganache over the bottom of the baked crust.

  4. 4

In a bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, sugar, eggs, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla extract until smooth, then pour this over the chocolate layer.

  5. 5

Bake the pie for about 40 to 45 minutes or until the edges are set but the center still has a slight jiggle.

  6. 6

Whip the egg whites while gradually adding the sugar until stiff peaks form.

  7. 7

Spread the meringue over the cooled pie and use a kitchen torch to toast it until golden brown, or place it under the broiler for a minute while watching it very closely.

Tips

Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to three days. If you do not have a kitchen torch, you can place the pie under your oven broiler for one minute but be sure to watch it constantly so the meringue does not burn.
